They were fitted to the military 6-cyl Land Rovers but not sure about the civvie versions.
You can see it in one of the photos in the thread below but I can take a better picture if needed.

Did all the 6 cylinder rover engines have an oil cooler as standard or was this an added extra and does anyone have a picture of said item in situ - never seen one before?
cheers,

All the engines I have have the oil coolers - all civy engines so assuming it was standard fittment to all.
As for pics, I've got one engine on the engine stand and the other 2 under a tarp which are a bit hard to get to - haven't got one in a vehicle at the moment...![]()

My 6 has one, my question and possible hyjack is,
Did the 2.25 petrol or diesel have them? Or can they be fitted onto them?
It seems that I've had a different experience to others.
I've had a couple of series IIa sixes, a coupe of series III sixes and four series IIB sixes and only the SIII military ones had the oil cooler. (even the military SIIB didn't have the cooler)
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
The oil cooler on the petrol models has been optional equipment since the 80 inch series 1. They were standard on fire engines and mobile welders and many of the military S1 SII SIIa and SIII particularly the FFR.
They are shown in the optional parts manuals and in the back of most Rover workshop manuals.
