    Spring Shackle Bush Replacement

Todays job, replace front spring shackle bushes.
The bushes came with the parabolic springs which were fitted maybe eight years ago.
At the time I also fitted new bushes all round on the chassis, as by the they were all about 35 years old.
I must have fluked some reasonable quality ones for the chassis, however the ones that came with the
spring set were obviously rubbish. I lathered plenty of graphite grease on everything when I fitted them
and that has made todays job very, very easy when came to removing the bolts etc..
However it tends to make the hands rather dirty.

    Cheers, Mick.

    Same here.
When I built up the 57 88" I used new bushes all round. Back springs were a bit saggy so bought Parabolics for the rear. The chassis bushes and the front of the Parabolics are still OK but the spring eye bush didnt last a month on each side. Replaced them a month ago with Q.H. bushes.
(Quinton Hazell Automotive, Nuneaton England) and all is good.
Luckly I bought 10 boxes of these many years ago, so enough to keep me going.
