Joe Hawkes from Airlie Beach absolutely swears by fitting an 1 3/4" SU to the series 2.25 litre engine. You need one from a wrecker that was on an Austin 1800 for preference says Joe. You will need to cut out two flanges from light plate and acquire a 90 degree bend then weld them together. Joe is a highly skilled engineer and knows his stuff. If you need a two stroke Detroit Diesel tuned or tickled up then Joe is your man.
Any idea what size SU is fitted to the 2.6 motor?
