    bulkhead repairs and modification

    has anybody modified a 6 cylinder bulkhead to become a 4 cylinder bulkhead. is it just the centre piece that needs changing or is there more to it

    I'm pretty certain it is only the centre bit, but it would be a fairly complex modification, even if you have the centre bits from a four cylinder bulkhead (these are not usually very rusty). If you don't have these, it would involve a lot of fairly complicated fabrication. From memory you will have to patch the main pressing as well as replace the vertical bits.

    You could try locating a good 4cyl bulkhead

    That sounds good but i'm in WA and probably won't be in Qld to pick up until the end of the year, could you hold it until then?

    I discovered today my earlier 74 ish, S3, 2 vents per side, Bulkhead is different from my 77, S3, 1 vent per,
    So the top dash pad wont fit. and are not inter changeable.
    Harry put a good top on mine, which include the cold air front Flaps, must have been from an earlier S3.
    Few cuts to make it fit, but can be done, the vents fixed with self tapper screws into the steel.
