There's been the odd modification to the car along the way, bit of a better ratio in the transfer box so it's a bit happier at 100-110km/h, reconditioned engine (4.6), converted to full sequential efi and spark, defender seats, bit of an update to the binnacle, oh, and a windscreen suction mount thing for the phone.

Here's a few pics from along the way:

What ever was used for a corrosion protection really worked, looks horrible though...

Pulled this octopus looking thing out...

Home sensor for the sequential fuel & spark, made out of an old distrubitor:

One of the 2 coil packs on a diy mount:

Gearbox half way through a rebuild, endless judgement from the dog:

And with a bit of help from a STRONG tail wind.... 10.7 l/100km @ 98km/h

Also, a bit of a unicorn moment, all three together:

    Cheers,

    Tim

A too small 2" system, with disco 2 era headers that also don't flow enough, the guy that does the tuning believes I'm strangling about 30 horses with it. It's next on the list to do.

It's quite bearable at 100km/h, certainly don't need ear plugs etc, but there's no point putting a radio in it. The RRC high range gearing helps, and I'd like to grab a set of the diesel high range gears but can't find any. I do have an overdrive to fit, but the 47,382 other projects I have on the go have got in the way.

    Cheers,

It is booked in with the guy who did the exhaust for my Defender, but he's flat out for months.

Here's a couple of shots of his handy work:

Booked in next month, bloke who does them is a busy man, but going off his other work, it'll be the nicest part of the car.

    Cheers,
