Paint could contaminate the oil. The oil will stop rust.

    G'day All,

If you decide to paint the internal surface in the swivel housing I suggest using this product: Glyptal 1201.

This is used by engine builders around the world to seal the internal surfaces in an engine block. It is red in color.

Glyptal is available in Australia from : Rust Paint Restoration @PPCCO online shop or their distributors.

If painted from the factory it's probably because the parts were dipped rather than sprayed.

I can't see any reason to paint the inside and haven't personally seen any that had paint on the inside.

Insides of mine painted by PO. Looked dead flash but leaked everywhere. Pulled them apart, shot blasted and painted all again after masking all the mating surfaces, don't want to jinx it but so far no leaks!
