New stage one

Oh dear this forum is starting to get like the silly old farts forum that is ExploreOz

Yes LR thought the brakes were not up to it and put restrictors in to cut back engine performance. Since then we have all found out the brakes are fine and removing the restrictors is not an issue - improving performance and fuel consumption a little - not a lot.

Remember the 101 has the same brakes and drivetrain and its engine was not restricted.

Also the OP is very familiar with Stage 1s as he has another with a stroked engine and standard brakes and full well knows these vehicles.

And wheel size and tfr case ratio.

3.9 with performance cam, headers and 4 barrel manifold fuelled by a holley 450. No problems in the Stage One. Just have to throw the parachute out the rear sliding window when hard braking is required[biggrin]

That is a work of art!! Thanks for the post, Im looking for power and plenty of it, how does yours go with the 3.9? Ive got another stage one thats been taken out to 4.2 and it leaves this latest one for dead, but the new one is running 750/16s and Range Rover high range ratios so not sure if it hasn't got the `punch` for this reason? ..Yes Garry Im surprised that the Narks have found this forum..If I want to drive a V8 ute, I want it to go like one and sound like one..no ones else business really!!

I'd like to compare wpalmo's 3.9 to the 4.4l in my stage 1. I'm certainly happy with how mine moves along and the noise..... 🤪
