When I worked at Leyland Series III wheels were all Limestone and the Salesman's Manual stated this. I can't recall ever seeing silver wheels. Bahama Gold was a Range Rover colour.

    Hello BigBjourn,

I am only going off what is in front of my nose. Apart from the army ones - all my Series 3s have silver rims. Both petrol and diesel plus 2.6 litre ones.

    Kind regards

My series 3 88 (1972) had limestone rims from new.

I suspect the colour of the wheels may have changed over the life of the series 3. I just googled series 3s pics and most were limestone but quite a few baby poop brown ones had silver wheels. So maybe the colour of the wheels is related to body colour in some way.

Based on responses to my recent thread on S3 SWB wheels, they came in both silver and limestone. The Spanish Olive body colour seems to have had silver wheels.

Sorry, been away from the forum for a bit. No, Marcus, it's not on the road currently, that's an old pic. There's a bit to do to get it up to RWC for Club plates. Eventually I would like to strip it down completely and go from there, but space and budget are against me, until I can sell up, and Jan's will is still not proven, which keeps me in limbo. Besides, I have three Discos and a Fiat 124 AC to deal with, but I'm bunging a head gasket in it short term to get it driveable.
