    this may have been to suit the military as the windscreens were folded forward as part of air portability requirements.

    ......and we often had to drive them in that status to a prearranged fup.....and it was always on a cold night, goggles , beanies, gloves , coats man field over howard green were the go.

    ...did anyone else back a land rover into a caribou? you did exactly what the loadmaster or air portability team leader told you to do.....there was no room for error at all.

    Late steering wheels do not get sticky (depending on what you have been eating, of course) - I have one on my 2a off a 1981 S3!
