    Radiator

    Good Morning.
    I am after a Radiator for a 79 S3
Some suppliers seem to list them, on websites
    But must import on demand.
Any suggestions, or a really good S/H one ?
    Thanks.

All aluminium ones on Ebay but I can't comment on fit or quality.
I would have thought that most of the usual suspects would carry them, there is one 'supplier' who seems to drop ship though.

How many local suppliers have you tried ?

Strange that it's still listed on Ebay as 1 left ??

Importing would work out cheaper but you'd need to confirm the shipping cost, airfreight delays may mean a longer than normal wait.
Radiator 2286cc/4cyl Standard type (3 core) - Paddock Spares
$196 including GST, if it cost the same again to ship it's still cheaper than some local suppliers.

Do you have one that could be re-cored ? Might be worth investigating the price if the top & bottom tanks are OK.

    Hi Colin.
Local Radiator shop, who I have used for many years quoted, $1,600
probably the cost of 5 core replacement.
He is the local expert on radiators, but bit exi.
The one in Stanthorpe had sold, but appears to be back on Gumtree.
If a bit closer, would have a look.
    Thanks for your reply.

Not knowing were you live northern NSW but the Qld Rover Club have a rally with a Lismore Car Club & we did a weekend run to Stanthorpe one year . Stanthorpe is about the same distance from Lismore as Brisbane 206km, so not that far. Problem is getting across the border at the moment, our Premier won't let you in.

    Wow !
I got a Series II radiator re-cored last year for $550, it would have been $750 if they matched the core exactly.
Unfortunately the main 'brass radiator' guy retired but I think they still do them.

I've been tempted to get a price to get my Series III one re-cored. With the little Isuzu motor all the fins vibrated off the original so I fitted a 'pattern' radiator that came with it. Brackets aren't quite right on the pattern one.
Interestingly my Series I seems to be still on it's original radiator.....
