There are some here who worked for Rover Australia (in its various incarnations) and may have fairly specific information.
I do not have much in the way of hard numbers, but the following may be useful. By the time Stage 1 was in production, most Landrovers were assembled in Sydney from CKD kits, with substantial local content, and in many cases variations in detail from home market models to use local parts and to meet ADRs, and with changes lagging significantly compared to home market.
However, because they represented only a tiny proportion of sales, my impression is that most 109 wagons, with a lot of parts that are not found on other models, were usually imported fully built, and modified in Sydney. (But even at this stage some state distributors may have still imported directly). It is possible that the practice varied over the years or even month to month!
Some stage 1s were fitted with the Isuzu 4BD1, and this model is exclusively Australian.
I hope this helps.
