    Dash Refurbishment

Has any one used the Dash Doctor in Coburg to refurbish their Series III Dash??

If so was it a good job and what sort of price?

    Thanks in Advance
    Cheers

Not hard to do yourself as mentioned.
A can of expanding foam & some spray adhesive from Bunnings plus some vinyl from a company like Daley's in Fawkener.

I did make some 'formers' to stretch the vinyl into position while the glue dried over bolt holes etc. I ended up using standard automotive vinyl rather than the 'stretchy' stuff that came with the car.

Having a spare dash makes it easy because you can do the job at your leisure then just swap over.

    Dash envy

My very tatty dash just got covered by a nice piece of Brunswick green painted marine ply...

It was much quicker than getting the dash out to repair, (unless I'm missing something)...
Mind you, that repair looks really neat!

They did the dash for my son's FIAT 124 coupé. Good job, but it was a few years ago so I don't recall $$$$

Dash isn't hard to get out.
Not sure that your solution will pass a roady. Meant to have a 'soft' dash to protect the occupants a bit.

Indeed. pretty sure there's an ADR about it.

Uh, I had a go until it looked like I had to take all the instruments out to get to bolts that hold th black plastic container thingy out, which meant disconnecting everything first.... that’s when I went for an alternative solution. The dash seemed to be attached forward and down, onto the firewall, there’s too much old, amended and now disused wiring below the dash and oozing out from behind the instruments for me want to avoid messing with it unless I really have to.

    have I missed something dumb??
