    Auxiliary 13 gallon tank fitment

    Hello from Brisbane.

I’m looking for someone local who might have an auxiliary 16 gallon tank fitted under the passenger seat/floor of an 88” Series 2 or 3. In particular I’m looking to see how the front of the tank is mounted to the chassis.

Note - this isn’t the standard 10 gallon tank.

    Anyone able to help?

    Cheers,

    Neil

    Colin,

Hello again and thanks for the prompt response - appreciated.

I thought it must be something like that - I don't have a welder, so will have to fetch about for some kindly soul who has.

    Cheers,

This is how I have done my passenger side and is a mirror image of the drivers side which was standard with the 15 gal tank in 1976. Only difference to standard is original has the support bracket overlapped more (a full square about where the chalk line is from memory) where as I don't like all the overlapping steel so I attached closer to the base and braced with gussets behind.

I imaging the original design would have allowed a bit more flex however and thinking of going back to original design. The return on the bottom measures about 42mm and holes are abt 22mm from the bend.
