    1976 88" S3 Stromberg Carburettor Replacement?

In the finals stages of restoring my S3. Removed the wheezy Stromberg Carby (2376050) and purchased a replacement Weber (ERC2886WRHD). Unfortunately the new carby doesn't fit - studs are too wide and too thick for the new unit.

The Weber linkage and fuel hose are in the same position as the Stronmberg, which would have simplified the change-over, if only the Weber fitted.

Is there a direct replacement for the Stromberg that would fit the manifold and and not require changes to the linkages etc?

I've searched for new versions of the Stromberg without any success. The old unit is very worn and probably beyond refurbishment.

The Stromberg is off a Holden not original on a Land rover , there are places who recondition the Stromberg's & you get then exchange & new on Ebay. When I bought my 80" S1 it had a Stromberg fitted & the holes in the base plate had been slotted to fit the S1 manifold , you may be able to do this with the Webber if you want to use it or make up a spacer to fit the manifold & carby base .

My S3 parts manual does not mention a Weber carburettor, but the Zenith, fitted to the 2.25 for most of S3 production, has an adapter, 554175 or ERC2974 (with PCV fittings) that turns the carburettor 90 degrees and has smaller studs and different spacing.

    Missing the adaptor. Doh.

So I was missing an adaptor plate for the Weber carby which spins the carb 90 degrees. Now for the tough question:
“Does anyone have details on how to modify the linkages and fuel line to cope with the new carby being 90 degrees offset?”
