    no start

It seems the only thing you haven't checked is the valve timing. It may be that the camshaft drive has slipped, is broken or has been set incorrectly. One of the regulars should be able to tell you how to check.

Happy to check and report if someone can help me with procedure as to how to do it. I will start by replacing coil and distributor and the leads are new. I might even get the carby rebuilt to eliminate that possibility.
Any leads on Carby kit for Zenith CD175-2

I think that’s the crankcase ventilation that goes back into the carby. The snap crackle and pop you report may well be where all your compression is going - past the rings and into the crankcase? Just a thought…

    Update with the car

Hello guys. Been sometime since i posted for help. Meanwhile i went back and got the carby stripped and rebuilt with a kit from Saudel. New spark plugs and new silicon leads. Purcahsed ignition lock and replaced with the old one as it was in parts. New ignition and coil ordered from UK - Powerspark as suggested by a member in post.

installed new dizzy and played with timing and the car now starts first go with external fuel bottle to carby. i am in the process to chemical clean the tank and replace fuel filter and change oil and oil filter.

Next would be the brakes and clutch that are on floor at moment to be able to test drive it.

Can thank you guys enough for all the help and direction given thus far.

Thanks, but it is still unknown what actually caused it unless you tried to start it before replacing the next component.

Anyway, a good job out of the way.

Hi mate i think the original dizzy had weak power and replacing with electronic point helped. i think the issue was with timing the dizzy and when i played rotating it and fixed the origional install which was 180 degrees out . Previously it coughed and getting timing right it fired right away , so in essence more to do with timing it right
