Hello from Brisbane.
It’s been a long time since I dismantled my truck and I’ve forgotten how the crank handle is stowed on the upright panel behind the seats. There were four spring clips riveted there originally which I thought held the crank and some other item - possibly the jack handle.
Anyway, if I re-rivet the four clips back in the position that I believe they came from the crank handle wouldn’t line up with them.

Does anyone have a photo of the correct set up please?
Cheers,
Neil

Just to complicate things it looks like your crank handle has been extended.

Colin,
Thanks for taking the trouble to get those photos for me.
Yes, I was looking at the crank handle earlier this morning and started to wonder if it had been modified. It certainly won’t fit in the clips if they are reattached to the panel in their original position.
To be honest I bought the truck about 12 years ago and have never driven it beyond from the street to my workshop early on. So, I can’t actually remember whether or not it was on the bulkhead or just lying behind the seats. Very likely the latter.
Cheers,
Neil

I recall that handles were extended/shortened (?) to suit the old Ra Ro V8 engine.
Also deffo shortened to suit a Series vehicle fitted with a LR Capstan winch , My own. The Ra Ro actual shaft was quite long & different to a Series vehicle with a 21/4 donk. Cut & shut was the order of the day then.
All my Series Landrovers have had the crank handle shaft horizontal, just above the bottom, with the handgrip held in the third clip - but I have no idea whether any of them were as original.
