    New bloke: 1975' 2.6 6cyl petrol

    Hello,

    Im new to this forum,
Have just brought (09/10/12) a Red 1975' 2.6 6cyl petrol and was wondering if anyone can give me any useful contacts for newish/reco heads and 'new old stock'/reco (stromberg 175 cd) carbies (if they exist). Or closest equivilants.? there any bolt on carby alternatives kits??

I have most other mechanical things purchased of ebay from either UK or USA suppilers, engine head Gasket kit, Engine air, oil, fuel Filters, Gear box/diff & swivel hub rebuild kits, new alternator, water pump rebuild, thermostat, brake master, electronic dizy/coils, new starter motor etc.

I'm 25 and its my first Landy,
She's in Straight (a little tired) Rego'd driving condition, Paid $2100.00. I know besides the jewish fuel consumption (20lt/100kms) & the Heads being finniky they're a pretty solid engine. I plan to take delivery, service & change the oils/fluids, bolt on the new stuff and drive!!!..

Apprieciate any knowledge on the topic / tips.
    Cheers.

Don't go breaking our heart darling, its 2023, and we need those series III manual links of yours now. There is no one coming for you dear, just ignore these idiot sofa warriors online here, use NordVPN if you really want some safeguarded peace-of-mind, no one will find you through your IP.

Anyway, back to subject, all these cars are now becoming super-rare, esp the 2.6 6 cylinder variety. and despite us carrying manuals etc, it is always nice to have a pdf copy on file, because....it is 2023.....and no media device (laptop) carries a dvd/cd drive.

My LR series technical manual disc is lying somewhere under a pile of spark plug leads, a tin of lithium grease and several propshaft u joint components, quite useless.

At present with my clean hands, it would be nice to research my progress on laptop, if you can, and you're still around here, I hope you are, please restore, the Land Rover Classic World needs heroes like you.

    Cheers,

    Sam

The 2.6 isn't so rare here, hundreds of Series III 6-cylinder LR's were used by the Army. Certain parts on the other hand are getting scarce.

I still have laptops & desktops with DVD drives but Google throws up what you need. Just search "Land Rover Series III manual free download".
