No real problems with the Jackaroo power steering box. Drilled a couple of holes in the front right chassis rail. Welded in some tubing to re-strengthen it.
The box sits inside the rail, and the Pitman Arm sits directly over the original spot. Less than an inch higher.
In fact, for the first time ever, the damned steering linkages actually look even.
A Holden Comode door steering shaft, with a couple of uni joints, that all connects to the original Daihatsu steering column, which now comes through the firewall about 2 inches further down than the original.
Coz I now have a really big brake booster there too.
Now all I have to do, is find a place to hang the damned power steering pump.
Oh. And get that stubborn mongrel transfer case off the back off the loosest wobbliest most buggered up all finished gear box I've ever rattled in my life.
It is shot.![]()
