    Hilux Gearbox

Would a hilux gearbox fit into a series 3 landrover without modifying mounts too much.

    NO
not only the mounts but it needs adapting to the transfercase too, wich would mean a custom output housing to match the toyota to landrover.
If you are going that way,get the toyota transfercase and engine too, then adapt the tailshafts and a handbrake.

Oh god. And everything else like the axle missed the sump, oil filters etc, and that the engine gearbox fits through the firewall and the transmission hump is big enough. Also the tailshaft will clear all of the crossmembers etc, the gearstick is in a usable position. Also the hilux outputs to the centre at the rear where you axle is offset so there may be increased vibrations. Radiator fitment. etc etc etc.
    Cheers
