You and Sleepy are both in Melbourne I notice - if you get a chance, try and get a peek at his Ol' Ute. It's a lovely original old bus and I almost bought it myself!
I'm happy with my Ambo though.![]()

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I inspected and drove this Landy yesterday. Quite a magnificent original example and well worthy of consideration. I am looking for a shorty but I was still very tempted.

Something a bit strange with the price going from 5k to 6k and now 8k next week it will be 10k.
Obviously the deal fell through and the owner thought it was worth even more. The problem with this vehicle is that its value will remain only as long as it is a garage queen and not used - as soon as it is used and picks up a few war wounds it is worth only $1500.
Unless you are going to buy then park it - it is not worth the money.

It's difficult to put a value on a 'collectors' item like this Landy - it depends on what the prospective purchaser intends doing with it.
Maybe it would have been better if it had been offered for sale by tender. That way the intending purchasers could offer what it was worth to them, without knowing what others were offering and without the present owner having to state a 'starting price'.

That's true Garry but for a Land Rover to only devalue $6500 in a year or two of having "fun" in it - it may still be a good buy. After all, how many $70,000 Disco's are worth $40,000 after a year or two of "having fun"?
Still as many have said - this one is just too pretty to get dirty.
