series 3 engine colour?

No not correct. Series I 1595 cc engines were a maroony-blue the 1997cc spread bore were grey and duck egg blue came in with Series 2 on the 2.283 cc engine and continued even on the 6cyl through SIII.

SIIB 6 cyl engines seem to have been blue or at least is the colour of some and the colour on replacement water pumps.

Army vehicles got different coloured engines upon reconditioning location, whether this was a RAEME choice or the colour used by external companies undertaking the restoration I'm not aware.
