    Interestingly, I've just recieved an email from a supplier about a new product they are releasing that uses a custom swivel housing and hub so that you can fit Defender front discs and calipers and still use your Series rims.

    It's all "crap" - just read the babelfish translation: http://www.heystee-automotive.com/we...id=216&lang=NL

    disk brake seals ombouw

    With the devised fusee houses and wheel hubs new by our whole serials vooras can be converted of drum brakes to disk brakes with use of the standard Defender disks and brake claws.

    There is no acquired characteristic necessary of ash or other components. The original serials and Defender components are possible directly on the fusee houses and wheel hubs are assembled with original to crap and wreck. Oliekeringen also all, gaskets and lower are appropriate without acquired characteristic.

    The complete ombouwkit exist from:

    * 1 HST linker fuseehuis
    * 1 HST right fuseehuis
    * 2 HST wheel hubs
    * 2 Defender brake claws (geventieleerd)
    * 2 Defender brake disks (geventieleerd)
    * 1 set remblokjes
    * all crap and ring the Defender share to assemble
    * 10 wielbouten, voorgemonteerd

    The rest of the components, swivel ball, affirmative material etc. is existing the serials ash components.
    There is an additional assembly seals available.

    This additional assembly seal exist from:

    * 2 wielager sets (lower + keringen and gaskets)
    * 2 oil kering with bevestingsring and boutjes (swivel ball)
    * 2 fusee lower and bus bushes + crap and wreck
    * 12 aandrijfflensbouten with rings (3/8)

    Important at order:
    The serials country bandits have two different wiellager dimensions;

    * Type of 1: Up to 1980:1 large and 1 small lower by wheel
    * Type of 2: As from 1980 but also on V8 the training period one: 2 right large lower

    At possible order is important of indicating it which of these two types your carriage has.

    Production has started, the expected delivery period: 5 weeks.
    (NB: the basis seals HST an entirely European product has been made, under own management in the Netherlands)

    You did well to find the "translation" Diana

    I could make more sense of the Dutch prose, even though I don't speak Dutch

    Seems like a good idea; if they are using Defender components it may be possible to copy their good idea and save some money, especially if one already has the Defender parts,

    Cheers Charlie

    G'day Banjo,
    Just make sure that they are made very well and don't break

    Having seen the photos of your work on the power steering and knowing that you used an engineer, I am sure you will do a good job but I always think it a good idea to be reminded that steering; brakes and suspension have to be repaired/ modified properly

    If I was doing this I would get an engineer to certify the design and work, so that the worst can't happen,

    Cheers Charlie

    Hi Charlie

    Yeah i would be making it from 12mm plate . But i would prefer to have a realy good tracing of the part before i start. Plus i would be seeing my engineer about it & if he likes the part after it was done i was going to see how much & whats involved in getting hardened..
    I don't put anything on my car till my engineer has seen it & aproves as i have the kids in the car thats why it took so long to get done & finished, i had everything aproved first..
    I have read some pretty bad stories of people not doing it right & having or causing a bad crash.
