I emailed them and said to cancel the order as it was taking too long. They then told me that I had not officially ordered a set as I had not made a deposit, ha, if I'd known that it would not have been a problem.

I am still thinking of the disc conversion and am toying with an idea given to me from a UK LR owner who has a setup running 110 2000 model rear discs and freelander 97-99 model calipers.
Very much a similar setup, but the freelander has a 5 bolt disc.
I may be able to combine this thread's info and the UK setup.

The 110 rear is 59 high and the hilux is 49, if the 10mm was worked around then the 6 holes issue would be sorted and the 5 holes would space nicely between the wheel studs.

    110 '99+: 298dia, 59 high, 14 thick, 101.6 hole (to be machined out) and 5 holes!

    Mazda 5 (europe) 16" wheel 2005+: Vented *300dia *49high *25 thick 72hole *5stud

    RX8 2003+ looks promising and great heights 43-45mm. 302 dia, 5 stud.

Yeah i'm still realy keen to work something out . & i now have a couple of spare hubs to play with ...

Hey Steve if you use the 110 discs would'nt the stud pattern be the same ? it mite fit over the hub with a little machining of the hub.??

after all the work done, would it not almost be easier to just cut and shorten some disco/fender or similar diffs. I'm not sure what this requires but it would get you disc's at the correct width for a series vehicle.

I just priced a 4 wheel disc conversion (Timm Cooper) from the US. Even with shipping it was a very good price. This is the way I will go with mine when I get some time and the Defender stops soaking up my cash! Worth a look: http://www.roamoffroad.com/

    Cheers,

As I posted before I abandoned the idea of disc brakes and went with 6cyl front brakes on the front and also on the back but in reverse. This idea has worked very well and I have no intentions of changing them now. There were too many safety questions with the system we trialled.

Dam that is a nice conversion though, the price for the 4 wheel conversion is pretty good too. Keep us all posted if you go ahead with it, this kit could sway me back onto the idea again.
