Today i did a bit on the SWB. I haven't been home and it was raining, and i thought lets get something done:twisted:. It is in really good nick and i just have to hide it from the wife and kids from bending it. With my son and Inox i started and firstly dropped the rear door on my foot ( damn Thongs) and the son got a laugh:mad:. Then we started on all the bolts on the rear tub and then the Windscreen. Then my wife gave me a lift. They aren't the lightest panels in history and then i was going to put it outside but the rain stopped play and then a couple of beers went on offer and we down tools. Here are some more picks:

It's been a long couple of months and i have gone to harvest, seperated from my wife and had a bad run with $$$$. The project is going to get started soon after i collect some more pieces and yeah. Sorry bout how late this is all happening.
The big question that i need answered is if i take the wiring loom out can i get a replacement for it or is it going to have to a sparky.
Cheers
Brian
i would think you can i know that you can for a series one but they are abit expensive. but would still be cheaper then a lecto.the guy i was talking to he got his wiring loom from the uk for about $800 but that was for his series one and he was abit simple
what parts do you need.the rear tub looks good execpt for the right hand side.but whether that bothers you or not
If you want to go for a new wiring loom, give these sites a check.

Brian,
Have a look at the Vintage Wiring Harness (now in Melbourne - used to be in Bellingen) site:
Vintage Wiring Harness - High Quality Replacement Automotive Wiring Harnesses
They don't list a Series 3 (only up to the last of the 2As) but as the business used to make OEM harnesses for Leyland and many other Australian manufacturers they may be able to help.
See their Land Rover selection here:

They don't do series 3, I asked at the Toowoomba swap meet. Anyway even with the postage autosparks are cheaper than vinwire. The only thing to watch out for is the UK series 3 has a different harness to the CKD version, but if you tell them what you want the can change it.
nah no drama with the tub, More to do now is find a nice diesel atm but i am looking for that is in the market place atm. The chassis i got will be sand blasted very soon and then cleaned. I am trying to get my Geni going so i can make some chassis stands up for it. The roll out the diffs for a check and then slam them back in. I am chasing ideas for further down the track like how to fit it out for it's journey and things to adapt for the trips i wanna do like suspension, better locations for breathers and above all making it bullet proof.
Cheers
