Update time, waiting on the original chassis that was repaired to arrive then I can start reassembling the game.
also have just had the bumperetts remade, the originals had suffered from to many trips to frazer!!
Pics to follow as soon as reassembly starts.

well took a backward step when I had to move the game due to where it was being stored being sold.
here are some pics of its new tyres and remade spare wheel carrier and bumperetts fitted to see if they need adjustment.

Managed to find a pic, this is from about 5 years ago, currently the game is a rolling chassis, but should be up and running again by christmas

And true you can never have to many Games, I nearly bought one the other day, only space prevented me

    MY GAME

I have a 1977 game that i have owned for about 5 years. I have given it a mechanical rebuild which included removing the 186 holden and re-installing original motor with a few subtle upgrades to increase the cruising speed.I have given her a gearbox rebuild, fitted parabolic suspension and installed millitary axles.I am keen to chat with any other game owners. Can anyone tell me how many were made? i have been told that there was less than 150 made.

Not sure on numbers built, but on your ID plate in front of the gearbox there is a number stamped on it at the top, I believe this is the build number, mine is 288, TimJ's is 282 from memory. Mine is a 2/78 build. It is great to see another Game on the road, well done.

    Cheers, Mick.

    Game plates

These are 3 plates from my game and 2 others
159 is about to be renovated and is original 1977
    170 is mine 1977 model
289 is being broken and is a 1978

It would be interesting to make a log of all game chassis numbers and make numbers to see what is out there

As Killer says my 1978 is No 282 and the 1977 is No 211. I'm not sure how much those numbers have to do with the order they were built in or if they were just stamped in some random manner like you would expect from Landrover . The reason I say that is that mine is a 5/78 build date and is 282 while Killer's is a 2/78 build date and is 288. Also Killer's has different wheels (still Sunraysia 15x8) but has been in his family since new so he can guarantee that they are the wheels it came with.

That's really interesting to see the number 159 as that would be the lowest number I have seen. One other I know of in Ocean Shores is about 170 I believe.

I have a copy of an article that reckons there were as few as 100 made but the stamped numbers seem to suggest about 300 since they were only made up to 1978 and high 200s seems to be the go for the 78 ones (if the numbers actually run in any sequence). It would be interesting to know if they started at 1 or maybe at 100 and it also would be interesting to know if there are any from 1976 out there.

I am going to start another thread to see if we can get some sort of register of the numbers and other details as I would really like to know.
