Gday Terry,
Ive got a Stromberg Carby on my 2.25 Landrover. It was set up like that when I got it so i'm not sure what is different to the normal set up. I'll grab some pics when I get the chance.
Cheers, Josh
Hi all
Anyone fitted a stromberg carburettor onto their 2 1/4? Only the linkages are on the side furthest away from the bracket for the accelerator controls and I can't work out how I'm suppose to connect it...

Hope this works and helps, let me know if you need any others.

YAY it worked :-)
Thanks heaps for doing this, much appreciated.
Interestingly it looks like yours has been turned 90° compared to mine; my linkages where facing in towards the engine, although I've turned it around so that the linkage face out now, which means the petrol in and the choke cable are coming in from the wrong side, but at leas the linkages are easier to work out! I'll take a pic or two to compare and post them up, just in case they are useful to anybody else in the future.
Thanks again
Terry
Edit to add: I also realise why everything feels so sloppy now (after looking at your pics) - I'm missing a spring!
g,day,
which model STROMBERG, bore and jets ayou using.
Phil
G'day Josh,
It looks as if your carburettor is missing the emulsion block, which should go between the carburettor base and the manifold. Its purpose is to stop heat from the manifold vaporizing fuel in the carburettor when the engine has stopped; this can lead to difficult starting when hot,
Cheers Charlie
Also when using a strongberg get a adjustable main jet , The adustable main jet is adjustable from the bottom of the fuel bowl which should be facing to the front of the car as you have worked out
The adjustable main jets were still availble a couple of years ago , I got mine through autobarn but should be availible through any decent speed or performance shop![]()
