    Engine mounts

My S3 LWB 72 model was origanly a 6cyl now it has the blue 202 holden in it.
was wondering if the chassis mounts for the engine are the same for the 6 & 4cyl or where the 4cyl ones in a spot further back..
i would like to get a rover 4cyl to rebuild & maybe fit that in at a latter date maybe..
Getting bored & keep thinking sell it & get something else to do....

Engine mounts - different position for all three engines, 4,6, Holden.

Note that as it was originally a six, not only are the engine mounts in the wrong place for a four, but the gearbox is further back and the bell housing is different.

To fit a four, the minimum would be to replace the bell housing and fit new engine mounts. To do a proper conversion to a four, you would need to do this plus move the gearbox forward, requiring new prop shafts, hand brake linkage, bulkhead and floor, plus other minor modifications.

I would be inclined to either sell it and get a four, or buy a four, perhaps with dodgy body, and transfer the good bits to it.
