Hey all
Can anyone tell me what size the crank start dog / crankshaft nut is?
I seem to have misplaced my calipers...
Thanks
Ash
The 2.25 in the 2a measures 42.5mm accross, so I'd say 43.
I don't know if the series 3 2.25 is the same (I would assume so)
But the 6cyl could be another story. Although, to take the crank dog, It would probably be very similar.
G'day All, I use a 3/4" drive socket, 1 3/4" it is a loose fit but does the job, I would say 1 11/16" would be closer to the mark, but the cost of the socket for one job, wellthats why I use my other socket LOL cheers Dennis

Thanks lads.
Yeah the cost of those sockets is insane, friggin' $55 for one!?
OK well I had to bite it and buy the socket AND a 1/2" bar to suit....$75
The 1-11/16" was spot on by the way.
Is there any particular knack to getting this thing off, its tight as!
I presume it come off anti-clockwise?
Shock/heat/lube I guess?
If the engine is still in the vehicle position the bar onto the chassis rail and rock vehicle in low range 1st should move it. If engine is out of vehicle chain block to bench and apply long bar.
I've never had a rattle gun but that might work.
ummm don't forget to fold the tab washer back....![]()
