Was cleaning out some boxes and found a couple of photos of my old 2a in NZ during my hunting days. It was an X Rabbit board vehicle, so pretty knocked around when I bought it. When I had finished it it had a 161 holden with torque grind on cam, high ratio diffs and 700x16 retreads ( bigger diameter, didnt have the tyre choice back then.) rebuilt g/box, wynns gear supplement in a purple tube, made it real quiet. All breathers were extended into cab for water crossings. The hut in the photo was 250 miles return from home, including 25 miles of 4x4. I could get back home on a tank of fuel, just. The hard top was fitted and the inside lined with carpet tiles, which made it warmer and quieter.

The white landy (not mine) is the result of a flooded Rangatata river and not walking the it first, yes they dug it out and repaired it. Note the forward control in the background

Is the Godley river, when in flood the river crossings are not a place for the faint hearted, as the water flow can push rocks along the bottom and landys can float sideways and tip over.
