Fleet Reduction
With the recent arrival of a Series IIa Dormobile I have to reduce the Land Rover fleet (so I'm told).
Some haven't been worked on for a while, I don't get the spare time needed with family & work commitments.
Current fleet :-
Series IIa Dormobile 1965

New arrival so the novelty hasn't worn off yet.......
Series I with home made welder 1956

This is on Club Permit and is used regularly. At Cooma someone described it as a unique piece of Australiana. Could never be replaced because of all the original owner modifications.
Defender Tanami 1995
First Land Rover I purchased back in 1998. Used for camping trips, still relatively low Kms, excellent condition (but the full length side decals were removed by the first owner). Driven regularly.
Series III FFR 1981

I've spend a fair amount of time sorting out the motor on this one. Canopy has had a new roof section. Needs some minor work to finish off like steering box leak, brake flexi hoses, new reservoir for master cylinder plus some panel work. Brushbar & bumper bent, passenger door needs replacing or panel beating. Most parts to complete already purchased.
Starts & drives OK.
Series IIa GS 1970

Original condition but axles had been swapped out, original axles supplied with it. Starts & runs but brakes to be overhauled. Came with canopy bows and I've had a new canopy made.
Starts & drives OK but low oil pressure.
'Wallit' Series III shorty with 2.4 Isuzu motor 1976

Have been working on this for the last couple of years when time allows. Rebuilt gearbox, new flywheel, doors repaired, new doortops, seats, seatbelts....lots of time & money spent. Just need some painting to get it back on the road.
Starts & drives well, can't wait for a full test drive.
Series II 109 1960

Purchased for the rear PTO & belt drive unit. Some work carried out Handbrake overhauled, gearbox mounts replaced, carby kit installed.
Needs a rear tub and springs.
Starts & drives OK.
At least one has to go.
At the moment I'm thinking of removing the rear PTO from the Series II LWB and then selling it. I only got it because of the rear PTO so all I need to do is recoup some of the purchase price.
I have a transfer box cover plate just need a mainshaft gear.
Apart from that I'd keep all the others because I've already invested too much time/money in them.
