Not sure if this is the right spot for this post.

At the suggestion of a another forum member (who shall remain nameless) I am hoping someone who lives in Brisbane can inspect a Zenith 36iv carburettor I have got "onto" using a Gumtree wanted ad.

The owner - Cyril - lives in Nundah which is, according to Google, an inner suburb. Cyril is also a Land Rover owner; old military vehicle..Usually before completing such a purchase I would inspect the item, especially the state of the throttle spindle to determine whether it's re-build-able. Since I live in suburban Melbourne the owner is happy for someone else to do that. If I get a volunteer I will PM Cyril's phone number.

I am trying to avoid buying one of the "new" Zeniths as most of what I read is very disheartening, particularly with the B**tpart and A**mark versions.

You would have my undying thanks and a beer or two if you venture to southern climes although why you would want to be down in the cold would be a mystery to me
