    Fairey overdrive

My Fairey OD has no casting numbers or letters.
Does this make it an Early or Late one maybe ????
    Thanks

Wasn't the Toro a close copy of the Fairey/Superwinch overdrive ?

Yes, but mine is not a Toro, looking at online photos
    Superwinch bought out Fairey.

Just found this, on Nicks Landrover site, when asked why no markings on a Fairey OD,

My guess would be that your casing was made by Superwinch ? my Superwinch overdrive had no markings and I believe they were the only licence holders for the design after Fairey disappeared except for the current holder, Rovers Down South (of New Orleans), who mark their casings with the raised letters ?RDS?.

Toro is almost identical to Fairey (hope the link below works)

Not sure how you'd tell them apart unless Toro was cast on the casing. Interesting that Toro was made by Bearmach who now supply aftermarket LR parts.

Toro has three ribs on the bottom while Fairey has two.

That's the easiest and most obvious way to tell Fairey overdrive.
