    Bonnet mounted spares & QLD Compliance

    Just a quick query, I know QLD (possibly elsewhere too) has quite specific rules around protrusions on bonnets etc.

    Can anyone clarify if bonnet mounted spares conform to these rules, ie, currently legal? I'm assuming they are, if they're original manufacturer spec, but just wanted to be sure.

    It depends on what it is mounted on.
    I don't think it will be allowable on a 2016 Commodore. What vehicle are you asking about?

    Ah sorry, a Series III, with a factory standard bonnet with mounting plate but no recess.

    Hello from Brisbane.

    If it is just the standard bonnet wheel mount I would be surprised if there was a problem. If it was then there would be an awful lot of non-complying vehicles running around the place, including mine.
