hi send your address and i will send you a piece jim
I was trying to replace the fuel filler hose on Matilda & decided dropping the tank would make life a lot easier.
Nope
A picture paints a thousand words so I'll ask my questions & let them do the talking.
How do I clean out this mess?
Is there a way to replace the broken pickup fliter or should I just buy a new one?
Looks like I need a replacement Fuel level sender as well.

Thanks very much Jim![]()
seal up all the exits and then a good clean with caustic soda , then an even better rinse . The sender is available from the usual subjects - I think the Diesel version differs from the petrol in that it has an extra terminal for the low fuel warning light.
cheers,

So it doesn't look quite as bad now that it's dried out a bit.
I thought it was full of flood dirt.
So I turned it upside down & gave it a good shimmy & shake and this came out.
Which ended up like this
So i'm thinking I might do the Caustic soda/CLR/Vinegar thing & try some of that Red-Kote lining stuff.
BTW. This is interesting to see inside a fuel tank.
I wonder if it was made out of some scrap???
Could be from Dullbird's place

So instead of mucking around trying to fix this in the limited time I seem to have these days, I dropped the tank to the HoHars for some Red-Kote lovin'.
Came up pretty good
