Aeroparts winch drive shaft & drive plate dimensions

I have an incomplete Aeroparts winch, missing in action are the drive plate that bolts to the engine, the drive shaft and operating lever.

The operating lever is fairly straightforward to make but I need dimensions of the drive shaft & drive plate.

There is someone making these parts in Germany but the costs are prohibitive. The shaft is fairly straightforward except for the splines at each end. the drive plate I could probably guess the dimensions but if someone has one to measure that would make life easy.

    Thanks in advance.

Colin, the shaft is easy to make. I made one using the two ends off a couple of clutch shafts. Same splines.
The plate is simple flat 3.365" or 85mm in diameter and mine is .245" thick.

In my parts book I found the pencilled remarks: Length S1, seven 7/8", S2, seven 3/8". Perhaps you could confirm this Keith? Cheers .W.

    Thanks Keith,
Someone had told me that the Series I clutch shaft was the same splines but I hadn't checked it out.

The original had a spring loaded plunger in each end of the drive shaft, I guess to centralise it. Possibly overkill to replicate this.

Once the winch is temporarily mounted I can confirm the length.

I'll be fitting it to my IIa Dormobile at some point in the future (2.25 petrol).
