I think the blue plastic ones are probably shims for setting the preload on the bearings.
Hi All,
Yet another question about the steering box, but hopefully the last one as I am hoping to reassemble the box tomorrow.
In the Britpart rebuild kit I bought from Paddocks, it contains what seem to be six gaskets, two paper ones, and four blue plastic ones.

I assume the paper ones go at either end of the box, but what the heck are the blue plastic ones for ?
Any advice welcome.
Cheers,
John

Thanks John, I'll keep that in mind during reassembly, I didn't quite get to that job today, been busy today with welding the chassis front cross member in, my first time welding.
Cheers,
John
Yes, they are shims.
Mine took 3 of the 4 metal shims and 3 of the 4 I bought, of the plastic ones, with some Loctite 515 between all of them.
Just rebuilt mine.....Gilbert
