Cant remember where I got the pic from - some other site I should imagine. Not seen them before.

I had a set on an RRC.
They were a PITA to fit and really I don't think they accomplished much in a place like OZ.
More for UK where mud gets into everything.
They can leak a bit then lock the moisture in.

Seen them on Series swivels a long time ago.
I'm guessing they'd be available in the UK?
From Page 59 of the Series III Salesman's Manual "Leather Gaiters" " These gaiters are of soft leather and are designed to cover the front axle swivel housings. They protect the polished chrome bearing surface from damage in sand or abrasive dust conditions."
Sounds like Australian conditions to me.
The Salesman's Manual was downloaded onto Aulro years ago. Should be here somewhere.

Yep. If you click on "Files" on the menu bar across the top of the page, it should bring up the Links and Download Manager. Scrolling down should display a link called "General Land Rover Related". That will open up the entries, scroll down to "Land Rover Salesman's Manual Series III".
That should give you the option to open or save.

My SIII had them. One of them was split and torn and I thought I'd just replace it but the bloke at the spares place in north Essendon suggested that the best idea was to pitch ém and just replace the seals that were leaking. From memory the price of a new pair was about the same as the Aust. GDP so a pair of seals was purchased and after a therapeutic afternoon two leaks were cured. From (distant) memory it was a painful job involving lots of lost knuckle skin and a couple of broken Sidchrome sockets. The disc brake conversion didn't make it any easier either.
