The seals from Hardy Spicer don’t necessarily come with the threaded cap and a pair cost me about $20 from memory - still looking for the invoices. The metal retaining washer is pretty flimsy and easily broken as we both discovered, but I was told that they really aren’t required for the updated seals - more to stop the original cork seals from falling apart.

Hello again.
I went to Hardy Spicer this morning to pick up a couple of seals for John.
As posted on the previous post above this one - the part ‘normally’ comes as part of a kit with the seal and threaded cap and costs about $9.
They were out of stock on that kit today.
I noted ‘normally’ because the counter guy gave me two from the workshop stock which now have John’s name on them. These were handed over gratis because he reckoned it would cost more to run up an invoice than it was worth. They did much the same the other day for me other than that they charged me $20 but threw in a couple of used caps and the split washers.
Cheers,
Neil
Damned with faint praise?
Presumably the parts arrived?
Wasn’t expecting bugles but some acknowledgement might not have gone astray.
Cheers,
