I'm more offended by the colour choice for the bulkhead.

I suppose it's a sign of being on the cusp of middle age that I think both that it looks awesome and bloody uncomfortable.

I also agree that they should have used a crappy example and stuck airbags and a honking V8 into it to do it properly.

    Hi,
It is no longer a practical vehicle. More of a show pony barely worth the cost of registration.
    Others will disagree.

There's lots I like about it but I'd want decent brakes and an engine with some grunt, even if you kept it as a 4cyl.

I didn't feel like looking at the whole video, so ran the mouse over it to look at it here and there. Got to 2:43 and thought "What a beautiful Landy"....then watched it getting butchered. Fair enough to make something like the end result out of a wreck or some bits..... But ruining that nice 88? Bloody awful.

I feel like I've just watched a horrific murder! If he did that to an old wrecker that was destined for the scrappy thumbs up all round, but that was a near concours SII, he deserves to be repeatedly run over by a land cruiser! Otherwise I secretly admire his work!

At the end of the day it's a TV show with an open ended budget, why would you start off with a scrapper ?

I think it's OK, I've seen far worse 'restorations'. Yes it's a shame a restored vehicle was used but there are things I've seen done to Series Land Rovers that make me cringe.

It would look a lot better if they could have fitted the right hand front guard, so it wasn't on a lean. I like the look, but am disappointed that they cut up a good example.

    Cheers,
