URGENT - need a starter solenoid in Melbourne

    Hi All,

My Landy S2A is being transported from Gold Coast to Tasmania, but it won't start when the carriers were moving onto the truck in Melbourne. The problem seems to be the started solenoid, which I believe is part number 13H5952L. Unfortunately British Auto Parts are shut until 22nd July.

Can anyone suggest where I can get one urgently, or any forum members in Melbourne have a spare one ?

    Thanks
    John Robinson

Four Wheel Drives in Hallam might have one.
There is also Fred Smith Automotive in Bayswater.
Problem is, are you sure it's the solenoid ?

Short an old spanner/ screwdriver across the studs, if it turns over its the solenoid or a connection to it.

Thanks guys. The problem is that I am nowhere near the vehicle, it's in Melbourne, and I am in Hobart. I managed to find one at all 4x4 in Sydney for reasonable price and postage. I am pretty sure the problem is the solenoid, it played up a few weeks back then came good. I'm having the new one sent to a mobile auto electrician (ACE Auto Electrician) in Melbourne who is a few klms from where the vehicle is. Just trying to avoid unnecessary storage costs.

    Cheers

Yes, but I only had the same thought last night, so I told them this morning about that. But I have the part on order now, so will wait to get it installed now.
