This my setup
Never have an issue with it

Hi All,
Does anyone have good pictures of how the various bits SPARE WHEEL CLAMP PLATE (303847) and SPARE WHEEL CLAMP THREADED TIE BAR (347866 ) are used to secure a spare wheel to front of the tub (behind the seats). ?
I made up a small rod to go through the SPARE WHEEL CLAMP THREADED TIE BAR, and placed the outside of the wheel towards the tub, but I found I needed a heap of washers to pack it out so the wing not clamps down on the SPARE WHEEL CLAMP PLATE, and after bouncing around on the road a bit, the whole thing falls apart and wheel falls down.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers,
John

Thanks for the pic. Is the threaded part one of these : Land Rover Parts - SPARE WHEEL CLAMP THREADED TIE BAR - INSIDE TUB LAND ROVER 88 & 109 (FINE THREAD) if so, did you use a small rod through the hole for the tub "claws" to hold it ?
Thanks
John
Mine has the cross bar welded to the threaded rod

ok, thanks. I'll have another go at installing mine in the same orientation as yours.

John
Mine is on the Bonnet now, but I have a large wing nut, when fitted inside on mine, which I believe is original.
Will take some pics.

Hello from Brisbane.
I think I have one off a Series 1 80” floating around under my house. It came as an unwanted part of an eBay purchase of a name plate that I was after. This is the bracket that bolted to the bulkhead, threaded through rod, cross plate and nut.
I’m not sure, but suspect that the units didn’t change much across the years - the cross plate and wing nut anyway.
If the gurus can confirm that the unit I have would be useful for your truck I am happy to pass it over to you. Assuming that I can easily find it - goes without saying.
Cheers,
Neil

John,
Hello again.
I will be digging around my workspace a little later on today or tomorrow - so, will look out for it. I know within a couple of cubic metres where it is meant to be.
If It turns up I will take a photo and post it.
Cheers,
Neil
