Most probably 3/8" BSPT (BSP Taper)

Have a look at BSP Thread Chart with BSPT & BSPP Pipe Fittings Dimensions & Sizes

BUT - it could be NPT

If it is, then you can buy them at any plumbing or hydraulic shop.

If it is 1/4" x 26 tpi BSF then you might have trouble buying one. Most bolt shop workers were not alive when BSF was last in common use. I can supply tap and die if you need to make one.

From memory even my Series III was 1/4" BSF.

Thread had been stripped but 1/4" recoil (Helicoil) insert kit available from a bearing supplier.

Ahh, good point. Drain plug, not filler plug.

Paddocks list them so I'm sure most LR parts suppliers could get them.

Swivel drain plug - Paddock Spares

Interesting that it's listed for Defender, Disco 1 and Rangie 86-94. This is the same part number for the Series II so should be the same thread.
