steering box ball bearing race wrong size any ideas

Hi Guys, I am restoring series 3 SWB, starting with steering box, I ordered an overhaul kit from LR parts in the UK and the ball bearing race is the wrong size, see the photos below, has anyone else come across this . Old race is around 31.75mm, new race is 29.7mm, Therefore I cant fit the ten ball bearings. LR parts are looking into it, but it is slow due to Covid 19

    Cheers Pete

The blue bag in the background could be a clue, **itpart.
Haven't come across this but I've only had to change one cup and it was off-the-shelf at a local supplier and was OK.

    Covid special.

    Hello from Brisbane.

I have a steering box refurbishment kit in my workshop that I picked up in South Africa a few years ago plus other miscellaneous bits sourced from the UK. However, I ended up buying a refurbished steering box and column assembly through a local parts outlet that came from the UK. So, the kit etc wasn’t finally used on my truck - Series 3 88”.

I’ll pull it out and run a tape across it to see if it matches your original part. If it does, then it’s yours if you want it.

All of the gaskets, bushes, O rings, bearings, shims etc are there plus another set of quality bearings that I bought in case the one’s in the kit were cheap rubbish.

    Cheers,

    Neil

    Hello again from Brisbane.

Replacement race cones measured through the packet are >30mm. Non Britpart.

    Cheers,
