Hi,
I have two rear differentials (from two series 1s, both 1957 but parts from many sources). One has six-lobed centres, and the other just has flat 'dish' centres.
What's the difference between these hubs, and can you tell me anything about them?
Here are some numbers I found on each:
Diff 1:
Hub: Flat 'dish' centre
On left side, out near hub: 111713163
On bevel pinion housing, small plate: 2557
On rim of bevel pinion housing: 5669 T5T57 O
On face of bevel pinion housing: ROVER 219636
Diff 2:
Hub:
On left side, out near hub: not legible
On bevel pinion housing, small plate: absent
On rim of bevel pinion housing: not legible
On face of bevel pinion housing: ROVER 219636
And here are some images:

Diff 2 end.jpgDiff 2.jpg
I found the similar part number 219635 in a parts catalogue, so I'm assuming that just means they have the same bevel pinion housing... I'm also assuming the 111713163 number means it's a 1957 diff.
Are they interchangeable? Can I put the 6-lobed hubs onto diff 1?
Thanks in advance!
