How often do you play with your Nuts ????

Did my monthly check over Gilbert, Oils, tyre pressures, bearings, diff oil and breathers
Whilst under the rear end, grabbed shaft, (rear drive) and noticed problem with nuts.
forgot What a pain to tighten, with two open ended spanners. Anyway 1/4 turn nipped up tight again.
I had used original nut and bolts, but now decided to replace nuts with a modern style lock nut. (Not Nyloc)
On removing bolt, it showed evidence I had added blue thread locker. Cleaned up on buffer wheel, drop of blue thread locker and new nut.
Tightened with small bar on openender. 14mm on nut was tighter than 9/16 which I used on bolt head.
Any thought on why the had loosened ????
    Thanks for replies and comments.

From owner's manual:- "Propeller shaft bolts Check the securing bolts of the propeller shafts (and fan drive shaft when applicable)every 12,000 miles (20,000km). Tighten if necessary."

I assume that they become loose because the bolts and holes have some clearance, so that the drive when opposite to the normal one (reverse or handbrake) is effectively by friction on the mating surfaces until the load is enough to overcome friction, when there will be some movement, reversed when normal forward driving resumes. This back and forth movement every time you go between forward and reverse wears both the mating surfaces and the bolthead and nut faces, resulting in the nuts loosening slightly.
