    White mudflaps ?

I recently purchased a job lot of Land Rover parts which I'm sorting through.

There are four white mudflaps with Land Rover in blue.
Are these aftermarket or were they fitted to a particular model ??

I recall that my old stage 1 had white rear mud flaps, so they did exist.

I have two exactly like this on my 1978 ex-Military 109 GS, mounted to special steel plate brackets that are welded to the underside of the rear crossmember outriggers.

    Cheers, Matt

    1. These will probably be aftermarket - Series mudflaps have the top angled. Possibly designed for fitting to a flat tray.

    2. As far as I can recall, mudflaps were never standard on any Series Landrovers in Australia except probably late S3, including the Game, which I picture in my mind with mudflaps, possibly white. But see (1)

Turns out that Matt was on the money.
I got the Series III FFR out today and it has the white mudflaps with blue logo but painted over in black !

So it seems that the military Series III's had the while mudflaps.

    Hello Colin and Matt,

Prompted by these posts, I went out to the paddock. I can confirm that two of my Series 3 ex-Army Land Rovers - both FFRs have white mud flaps with a Land Rover logo. One vehicle features layers of camouflaged paint on top of the white mud flap, the other is painted standard green.

    Kind regards
    Lionel

And they seem to have the metal brackets to work with a square top to the flap. Looks like question answered?

Mine were in ok condition, but I had to fabricate new brackets though, thanks to cancer in them. Your FFR will look nice and spiffy with the new ones Colin, but be careful or you will find yourself giving it a fresh paint job and re-gal so they don’t look out of place White mudflaps ?White mudflaps ?

No gal showing on an ex military LR.....

Already part way through a re-paint but I think white mudflaps would look odd so if I fit new ones so I'd end up painting them.
