I've removed several door skins to repair frames then re-fitted the skins.
There is some sealant but it's usually hardened and cracks, never had an issue de-skinning.
You need to bend back the aluminium as little as possible, I've not annealed before re- fitting.
Closing the seam again doesn't always look as neat as factory, I used a sandbag & panel beating hammer.
There are seam closing tools but I'm not sure how readily available they are, some are like pliers with a soft jaw and there are rotary ones as well.
I'll look for some pictures when I get home.
