That sounds reasonable to me, there's a lot of fiddling to do messing around with ancilliaries, pipes and cables etc.
Got my engine today all looks good
Rang a local mechanic asking how much to do the swap he said 8-900
Its a 93 V8 discovery EFI
Does this sound about right i have never had engine work done before i have always done it myself but i just don't have the time

sounds like hes allowed 10 hours to do it in which would be about fair. so yes its sounds like a fair price.
I figured i could do it in about 10-12 hours and they say it would take them 10
So not to bad i think he might get the job
go for it thats a good price
blythe
for the hassle involved, its a decent price, i did an engine swap myself back in august, well more a conversion from an 82 rangie 3.5 to efi in my disco
the thing still leaks and isnt going well, mainly because i cracked it and lost interest in it, i should have just paid a bloke to do it and any hassles would be his problem, i am normally pretty good on the spanners but this was one case where i really regret doing some work myself
yep...
thats fair.
Id get a new clutch setup as well while you were at it and allow for an unexpected $300 in case he has problems and it blows the job out in parts or labour.

Is this the same guy you say you saw hitting your MAF and couldn't get the dizzy lead order correct? If so, you should be able to find a 10 year old kid who will do the same quality work for less.
Not a chance
That guy is lucky im not giving out his business name and address on here
Good to hear!
