    Suspension compressor mounting bracket broken.

I recently noticed that the suspension compressor was noisy so asked for it to be checked out during the scheduled service the car got today. Bad news is that the compressor has sustained a heavy whack somewhere and that the alloy mounting bracket is probably cracked. Taking it back next week for it all to be pulled out and inspected/repaired. This is the second bracket I've broken - the first was way out west and had to pull it out myself for running repairs by a local welding contractor to get me back to civilization, so I know from first hand experience how diabollicaly difficult these things are to pull out as well as how expensive they are. The problem appears to be that the location of the compressor is less than ideal - just in front of the left rear wheel and protruding slightly below chassis level. The solution would appear to be either to relocate the compressor to somewhere safer (but where?) or bolt a bit of body armour over it (does any one make/sell such a thing?) Has anyone out there got any ideas?

Got charged $500 to replace said bracket by LR but that included a look at the compressor as well.
