    p38 brake master cylinder leaks

    have a major leak behind brake master cylinder.5or 6 pumps and reservoir is empty.anyone else had this problem?

    Check to ensure that it isn't the solid brass junction that sits on the body of the car just underneath the master cylinder (looks like a T piece with brake lines going into and out of it).

    They are prone to leaking and the subsequent leaked fluid looks like it came from the master cylinder above.

    I guess if its leaking badly enough, it could be what you have described. you will need a new or reconditioned one of these to fix it. Its not that expensive.

    However, if it is the master cylinder - different story.

    I just had a quick look in RAVE

    Its called a Pressure Conscious Reducing Valve PCRV !

    master cylinder leak

    think i found leak! seems to be in brake line running on top of chassis almost directly below master cylinder. should be abit cheaper to fix.
